Ready to push your engineering limits and successfully route trains in tight situations?  Even if you never enjoyed model train sets as a kid, you may find that routing trains is as fun, and maybe even more challenging, than shooting angry birds at pigs.  Let’s take a look at Trainyard, a newer game in the App Store, and see if trainyards still are appealing in the 21st century.

iOS devices are great for increasingly intensive 3D games, but sometimes you just want to relax and play a game that will spark your imagination while giving your eyes a rest.  Trainyard is an innovative puzzle game that does just that.  The game consists of laying out tracks to guide trains from their origin to their destination, starting out with easy layouts and working up to mind-bending levels that take ingenious track layouts to solve.

Posterous describes itself as the simplest way to blog and share anything you want, so let’s see if their new iPhone app brings the same tradition of simplicity for mobile blogging.

Posterous is one of the most unique simple blogging services. To start a blog, just send an email to [email protected], and seconds later, you’ll have a new Posterous blog with that email as your first post. This means that every iPhone and iPod Touch have a built in Posterous blogging app: the Mail app. You could also blog from a more advanced email app such as MarkdownMail. Still, when you want to post pictures or manage your blog itself, you’ll want more power. That’s where the new Posterous app comes in.

Airbnb is an increasingly popular service to cheaply rent places to stay in prime locations around the world. You can find a place to rent or list your home for rent from their website, but they’ve recently released a beautiful iOS app to let you browse and list locations right from your iPhone or iPod Touch. Have you been disappointed with the WordPress app and wanted more flexible ways to publish to your WordPress blog on the go? Thanks to the new Express for WordPress app and the WooTumblog plugin from WooThemes, you can now quickly publish a variety of content to your WordPress blog from your iOS device.

Express for WordPress is a new app designed to let you post anything you want to your WordPress-powered blog from your iPhone. One major problem of blogging apps is that most of us don’t want to write long, detailed posts from a cramped screen. Micro-blogging solutions such as Tumblr let you create shorter posts featuring an image, link, or quote, but WordPress sites are typically filled with longer posts. WooThemes is aiming to change that by making it easy to post simpler content to WordPress.

Have you been waiting for your iPhone to support Flash videos? Today we’re going to look at Skyfire, a new browser that lets you play Flash videos on your iOS device.

Ever since the iPhone was released in 2007, users have been clamoring for Flash support. Although Flash is still not supported in iOS, the situation is much better today since many sites are including h.264 HTML5 compatible video on their mobile sites. Have you ever wanted to format your iPhone email messages? Today we’re going to look at a popular new app, MarkdownMail, which makes it incredibly easy to create HTML formatted emails with the simplicity of Markdown markup.

Most of us rely on Google Maps and Search to get through the day, and never give the choice much thought. Today we’re going to look at the Bing app for iOS and see if it’s worth switching to a new search engine.

In a world where Google is now used as a verb for searching the web, most wouldn’t consider using any other search engine. That’s why Microsoft surprised the world when it released Bing and now they’ve made it accessible even to Apple’s mobile devices with the Bing iPhone app. There’s no such thing as a perfect search engine, so we’ll take you through the Bing app so you can see what it offers and decide for yourself.
