I love to keep fit. I’ve been a fitness enthusiast nearly all my life, and after scouting around the app store, I managed to find this awesome app that we previously reviewed and found a bunch of awesome fitness routines that you can do. I praise the app often, so I thought I could show the potentially gym-shy users out there how to use your iPhone to help you start keeping fit.

This article will serve as a guide to resistance training you can do with your iPhone using a few apps that I’ve selected. Be aware that you should do about three sessions of moderate cardio a week for general fitness and flexibility. This can be as simple as going for a brisk walk to playing an intense game of basketball! (more…)

Getting into shape and my physical improving fitness is something I take a great interest in. I’ve tried a wide variety of training methods to get fitter and stronger; from powerlifting to HST (hyperbolic strength training), interval training, and currently, bodyweight training. The great thing about keeping in shape this way is that it’s virtually cost free, however, there isn’t necessarily an obvious way to start.

Adrian James Six Pack Abs Workout is an app that features a wide variety of exercises to work and develop your core strength. I hadn’t heard of the app until recently, when I stumbled across it gaining traction in the App Store’s Top Charts, with a lot of 5 star ratings and a reasonable price. This made me curious as to finding out what made this app so special for what appears to be a simple function. Let’s find out if it offers anything unique. (more…)

First the original, then Seasons, then Rio, then Space, then Piggies and now Star Wars? At first I thought Rovio were running out of ideas; a collaboration between the somewhat serious Star Wars venture and a bunch of oversized quick-tempered birds seemed off the table. Despite my initial doubts, however, Rovio’s newest release is as addictive as ever.

Angry Birds Star Wars is that classic gameplay we all know and love put into a context that we are equally affectionate towards — that of the Star Wars franchise. This unlikely combination actually suprised me with its comical charm, something i wasn’t sure that would be retained. Will the birds still stay strong in this sequel? Let’s find out. (more…)

There are many racers out there for iOS that all have their own unique mechanics. This, however, is a pretty different one from the bunch. With a top-down view and arcade-style gameplay, this isn’t what you’d expect from a fully-fledged racer.

Mini Motor Racing is a fast-paced frenzy to the finish in small, chubby vehicles that scream cuteness. It has solid visuals, great gameplay and a heck of a load of fun in store. Is it good enough to oppose other similar games like Reckless Getaway? Let’s find out. (more…)

Working out. Not all of us are good at it. Even those of us that are don’t know if we’re training right or wrong. If you’ve struggled trying to bulk or tone up, it probably has to do either with a fault in the exercises or a lack of organisation. That can all be changed with the help of this app.

Fitness Buddy is an app packed full of exercises that will help you sculpt your ideal body. It has many useful features for the new athlete or the dedicated bodybuilder; anyone will be able to enhance their workout through this app. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store. (more…)

It’s Game Week here at iPhone.AppStorm, and all this week we’re going to have tons of reviews, giveaways and other good stuff, all centered around the gaming world!

Some traditions never die. I’m a huge board game fan, having practically grown up on all sorts of classics like Scrabble, Yahtzee! and Monopoly. I’ve found that some board games are the most incredible games out there today, despite the quick advances of technology.

In this roundup, I’m going to show you ten apps that will transition the amazing experience of board gaming to the palm of your hand. It’s up to you which ones you pick. (more…)

Racing games have had mass success on the iPhone due to the fact developers can make use of the steering wheel-type gameplay through motion control. It still remains one of the most popular genres on iOS today.

If you like adrenaline-fuled rushes to the finish line, look no further. Here are twelve of the best racing apps out there that will surely quench your thirst for speed. (more…)

The days where I used to visit arcades over and over again to get my gaming thrills may be long gone, but that doesn’t mean the thrills themselves have left. These iOS apps translate the arcade experience to the palm of your hand and even offer new, potentially more exiting games, too.

In this roundup, I’m going to highlight 11 apps that are arcade essentials. I use that term loosely, but for an arcade lover such as myself, I find these games impossible to be without. (more…)

Coincidentally being released soon after the Miami Heat won the NBA Playoffs, Asphalt 7: Heat is the latest addition to the Asphalt series. The previous instalment, Adrenaline, is a pretty hard act to follow, and with big names like Real Racing two on the rise, is this new release enough to make it in todays market?

The game involves fast-paced gameplay coupled with brilliant graphics that make this one hell of a ride. Whilst the core gameplay is much the same as it’s predecessor, Asphalt 7 has all the makings to be the top racing game for iOS. Let’s find out more after the jump.  (more…)

Ever felt like sitting down in front of your iPhone and eradicating human life using a rapidly evolving pathogen that can instigate global anarchy? It’s a need you don’t necessarily have until you sit down with this strangely addictive app.

Plague Inc. is a real-time strategic simulation of a disease progressively infecting and killing every sentient being on the planet. Sounds just like anybody’s cup of tea, I know. There’s something about having total control over a somewhat terrifyingly realistic situation where your actions can decide whether billions will live or die. If any of this is relatable, either consult your local psychiatrist, or read on. (more…)
