I’m quite the fan of trivia apps, and I have reviewed my fair share of them throughout my time here at AppStorm. Something I have learned after playing so many of them is that it truly does take something special for a trivia app to leave an impression on me. QuizUp, which has taken iOS by storm, definitely possesses something special. Find out why QuizUp has been moving to the top of the charts after the break.
Nintendo has long been one of the top dogs in the gaming department. Unfortunately, many of us, including myself, no longer own a Nintendo handheld device, and can not play the games on our various iDevices because Nintendo is rather ambivalent about making their games available to players on third-party devices.
In years past, many people would jailbreak their phones in order to play classic Nintendo games on their phones. However, this is no longer necessary. In this article, I will teach you how to play your favorite Nintendo games right on your phone — no jailbreak needed. Learn how after the jump.
Let’s face it: the App Store teems of fast-paced games packed with action and suspense. It’s all about the next new zombie game, or the arcade game that brings a new twist to an old classic. However, there are only so many of these games you can try out before they become stale.
KAMI gives a breath of fresh air to the gaming department by stripping away all the action and creating a laid-back, meditative gaming environment that can’t be found in many games these days. Does it compete with its action-packed competitors? Find out after the jump.
Let’s face it: we all want to be smarter. The only problem seems to be that programs that allow us to do so are very costly or not realistic with our everyday schedules. However, one tool that we overlook happens to be in our pocket. That’s right, it’s our iPhone.
The App Store has a wealth of applications that can help you exercise your brain, whether you have five minutes on hand or hours to spare. Plus, many of these applications are free. Today we have a roundup of 40 iPhone apps that help make you smarter. Read on to find out which ones made the cut.
Today, people of all ages can learn to code amazing applications for our beloved iPhones. Veeral Patel can attest to this statement.
Though he is just a high school student, Veeral has shown that he too can play at the same level of the adults in the app industry through his recent release of Owl, a daily facts application I reviewed not too far back. Recently, I had the chance to talk to Veeral about his experience as a student developer, his experiences at this year’s WWDC and what we can expect from him in the near future. Enjoy.
Did you know that a few years ago, Justin Timberlake attended Comic Con dressed in an Ernie costume and claimed it was the first time in ten years that he was able to walk freely in public? Or did you know that the Dutch East India Company was the most valuable company in world history, being worth $7.4 trillion in today’s money?
These are just a couple of the facts featured in Owl, a brand new app on the market. But the facts aren’t the only feature that makes Owl unique. Find out what exactly sets it apart from its competition after the jump.
I’m a big fan of trivia, so I’m always on the look out for a good trivia game for iOS. I have tried many different versions, and none of them really lived up to my expectations. Trivia games were either too easy or too difficult, buggy or just plain ugly.
So when I first saw a friend of mine playing MAG Interactive’s Quizcross, I immediately asked him what he was playing. I downloaded the app shortly after, and since then I have not looked back. Find out what makes Quizcross such an amazing trivia game after the break. (more…)
One of the Mac apps I could never live without is Alfred. It just makes everything so much quicker and easier to do — just a press of a keyboard shortcut and the action I want to carry out is just a few letters away. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen an iOS app that can streamline our actions just like Alfred.
That is, until now. App Cubby’s newest release, Launch Center Pro, is the Alfred that iOS has been missing ever since its debut. Launch Center Pro will completely revolutionize the way you use your iPhone by bringing several features into one place. Learn more about how this app can make your iPhone that much more efficient after the break. (more…)
I’ve used plenty to-do list applications in my day, and shelled out quite a bit of money for them, to say the least. Some boasted much more features than others, while some were better designed. And, well, some were better than others. I have found that I prefer the simple to-do app, so I resorted to using Clear.
Then a nifty little app called Cheddar came out. It was similar to Clear because of its simplicity of design and function, but seemed to be a bit more robust when it came down to features. But does Cheddar make the cut and replace Clear as my go-to to-do list application? Find out after the jump. (more…)
