Hey folks! I’m Jordan McNamara, the Community Manager for Envato and I wanted to share some exciting news with you about the Envato Marketplaces.
The 12th of September was an exciting day for me as a member of our thriving Marketplace community. I along with everyone here at Envato HQ watched eagerly as the global Marketplace member count steadily grew higher and higher and higher… We were close, very close to the 1,000,000 member milestone. With every page refresh the count grew higher and I began to reflect on just how staggering having 1,000,000 members really is and on just what a fantastic community everyone has helped to build here.
Do you also have an iPad?
Over at iPad.AppStorm we recently published an indulgently long list of great iPad apps! While no list can claim to be comprehensive or exhaustive, this list of fantastic iPad apps should satiate even the most ravenous of appetites.
This is a roundup of simply the best iPad apps around, you need look no further. I’m going to include the old favourites, there’s a reason they’re favourites, but I’m also going to try and shine some light on some fantastic apps that may have flown under the radar.
iOS 5 has been officially released, and iOS developers are eager to begin making use of the many new features available in the iOS 5 SDK! If you’re at all interested in developing for the iPhone as well as using one, our First Look at the iOS 5 SDK is a must-read.
With the release of iOS 5 SDK, the iOS development platform has reached a new level of maturity. It is apparent with this SDK release that Apple is really listening to the needs and requests of the development community. Not only has Apple recognized the common goals and pain-points expressed by iOS developers, but they have also sought to provide tools at the SDK level that will solve many of the common problems we face and completely alleviate some of the most frustrating pitfalls.
With the latest SDK, one thing is certain: it has never been more exciting to be an iOS developer!

Hello readers of AppStorm! As you may know, from time to time we cross promote other Envato sites and services here on the AppStorm network. Well, today we launched a short-run Graphic Designer Bundle on our marketplaces, and it’s fantastic value – $500 of photos, images and Photoshop/Illustrator add-ons for just $20!
In the bundle are files from our long-running and highly popular GraphicRiver marketplace, and the newly launched PhotoDune marketplace for royalty free stock photos. It’s a fantastic deal with some great stuff in it. I should know, as I picked the files myself!! (more…)
Well, it’s been a full week here at iPhone.AppStorm, and it’s all been about productivity, getting things done and generally making yourself a more efficient person. It’s been so hectic that maybe you missed out on something, or possibly you haven’t had time to catch up on all the big news. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered. Check out all the details after the break.
The App Store is packed full with millions of apps, and it seems like most of them have some form of the phrase “to-do” somewhere in the title. It can be frustrating trying to find the perfect app for making your lists or trying to get things done, and fortunately, that’s why we’re here. Welcome to Productivity Week, where we’re going to spend the next few days making sure you get a few things accomplished.
Each day this week, we’re going to have a review, how-to or roundup that will help you work more efficiently and quickly to complete whatever it is you have to do. We’ve got some big reviews coming this week too, and we’ll even dig into our archives so that you get as much GTD in your life as possible. We’ve even got a contest that we’re kicking off later today to celebrate.
So if you’re all about making lists, keeping your stuff organized and maybe you’ve been diagnosed with a “touch” of OCD, iPhone.AppStorm is your place to be. Here’s to getting things done!
It’s kinda crazy to think, but our little internet startup, Envato, has been on the air now for five years. We started back in 2006 as four very enthusiastic and totally green entrepreneurs with a shoestring budget and a love of the web. Fast forward five years and while we’re hopefully a little less green, we’re still incredibly passionate about Education, Marketplaces and the web! It’s been an amazing time and we’d like to share a look inside our Melbourne HQ offices, some stats about Envato and a big thank you to the community.
It’s always hard when a member of your family moves on, and today, that’s how we here at AppStorm feel about Steve Jobs. No, we’ve never technically worked alongside the legend, but because we’ve written about him for the past few years, most of us feel this personal connection to the man that’s been the driving force behind Apple. And it’s hard not to, because he’s been in our lives for so long now.
And now, it’s time that we say goodbye to Steve, as he’s stepped down from the CEO position at Apple, to his new position as Chairman of the Board. But this isn’t Steve’s eulogy. This is a celebration of all things Steve, and our own way of saying thanks to the man who helped us do what we love to do.
