When it comes to keeping track of my finances digitally, I feel like I’ve really tried it all. On my Mac, I’ve tried iBank, iFinance, Koku, Money and Moneywell; on my iPhone I’ve tried Expenditure, MoneyBook and Saver, not to mention Mint.com on the web and iPhone. I’ve been pretty displeased with all of them, nothing really seemed to fit with my lifestyle and habits.
Budget with Back in Black (referred to as Back in Black from here on out) is the latest in the crowded market of finance apps, and with its quick climb to the top of the App Store charts and the rave user reviews I read, I was cautiously hopeful that Back in Black would impress. Find out the results after the jump.
Freelancers the world over generally have to invoice their clients before they get paid. An invoice is a legal description of goods and services provided with indication of payment methods and terms. There’s a range of services for freelancers to create invoices, both those that are dedicated to the purpose (like FreshBooks) or traditional office applications (like those in iWork or Microsoft Office).
There’s a small community of finance apps on the App Store focused at freelancers, and Invoice Robot is certainly not the only one aimed at invoicing. A companion to the popular FreshBooks service is MiniBooks, which we’ve already reviewed here at AppStorm, is one alternative, as is long time AppStorm-sponsor Billings Touch.
Invoice Robot is a mobile invoicing solution, available as a universal binary on iPhone and iPad. Today, we’ll be taking a look at it to see whether or not it’s worth a download.
There was a time back in primary school when my class had a math lesson that involved sticking to a budget as we went around the classroom ‘buying’ things with money that distinctively resembled Disney Dollars. That was the first and last time that I can remember finding the task of sticking to a budget and tracking expenses as being fun. That was until I came across the app, Toshl.
No longer will you need to hastily scribble your expenses on a crumpled piece of paper or try to mentally calculate how much of your holiday spending budget you have blown on drinks and tacky souvenirs. A few taps in the Toshl app and all will become clear, complete with a few nifty graphs thrown in for good measure. Whether you want to keep track of all your expenses or just a one off budget, such as your Christmas shopping, Toshl can be a real life (and hair) saver. Let’s take a look at Toshl’s main features, functionality and performance.
Lets face it, meetings are generally a place of boredom and outdated technology. They are filled with far more paper and xeroxing than tablets and smartphones. Even when technology is incorporated, you still spend a majority of the meeting typing and recording. What if there was a different way to hold meetings, a way that gets rid of excess paper and saves your fingers from typing out thousands of words? Meetings are about to launch into the 21st century with Agendas, a new iPad app.
Agendas is a note-taking application designed for making meetings easier and more productive. Plan out your presentation ahead of time and include text, images, and real-time polls in your agenda. Once you have a basic framework of your meeting topics and information, it’s time to start your meeting. Agendas allows you to share your meeting notes with other users, meaning less typing and more listening.
It can often be difficult to keep up with all of your purchases and really see where your money is going each week. Even if you take time to balance your bank account, you’ll often not notice where small amounts of money are going to coffee, apps, and more.
Expenditure is an app that aims to help alleviate this problem by making it simple to record all of your cash flows on the go. Whether you make money from selling some used books or spend $5 on lunch, you can keep track of where your money’s going. Let’s dive in and see if this app is what your budget needs to keep you on track.
