What’s Your Favorite Way to Tweet?

Now that you’ve seen our selection of Twitter iOS apps, leave a comment below and let us know your favorites.

Be sure to include any cool Twitter tools you’ve come across in addition to the standard apps!

  • http://www.nightlion.net NightLion

IceBird is hands down the best! I can’t believe this one wasn’t mentioned. By far the cleanest and easiest to use GUI.

  • Charli

I can’t believe you didn’t even mention Twitter for iPhone & iPad. But what about other clients such as Seesmic and Hootsuite allowing you to post on different platforms simultaneously like Facebook, linkedin and such.

  • http://i.cbeninati.com C. A. Beninati

@NightLion There are a lot more apps out there, but IceBird really does look like one of, if not the nicest I’ve seen yet. Thanks for pointing it out!

@Charli The Twitter for iPhone and iPad is the first app listed under the ” iPhone and iPad” group. I think that multi-platform posters could probably have a whole post of their own! :) But yes, there are some great ways to keep all of your social media sites up-to-date.

While this is very thorough roundup, I wish you would have said something more about the specificity of each app in your own words – the strengths or weaknesses based on personal experience or what you’ve heard from friends and acquaintances. I would’ve liked to learn about the experience of USING the apps instead of reading the same description the app developers provide, since I can get them when I research the apps, but I don’t get honest user opinions. This by no means diminishes the respect I have for you making this roundup, C.A., I know how much work goes into something like this.

On a different note: I use Echofon on the iPad, the iPhone and on the Mac – for a couple of very simple reasons:
    a) The app syncs between all platforms. There is little I hate more than having to re-read tweets when I switch platforms. So far, Echofon has been the only app that does that for me.
    b) While the fact that I need three taps to change users (iPhone version) annoys the hell out of me, I haven’t found a Twitter app that lets me click on an embedded link right from within the timeline. With Icebird or Osfoora or Twitbird, which all appeal to me more visually, I need to select a tweet and only after that I can tap the link to see more content. Why?

So, the efficiency of Echofon has me using this client even though – as I mentioned – I prefer the visual representation of other clients much more. But for me it’s function first.

If anyone knows a client that syncs across platforms and has the ability to let you click links right from within the timeline or display image previews when selecting a tweet, please let me know :)

    • Mashi

+1 Echofon suite user. I still need to buy the desktop client someday.

And I too am getting sick of roundups with no personal use stories.

  • Ashley

You forgot Hootsuite… I think this happened before as well. Such a great app for iPhone and Mac.

  • Mailia

You should add pictures of the iPhone and iPad versions with the Universal apps. Kind of hard to judge both from one picture.

  • http://i.cbeninati.com C. A. Beninati

Thanks for all of your comments!

@Julia- It’s true that there is much more that could go this list inasmuch as my personal comments and reviews, but this was supposed to be more of a general exposure to what’s out there. I love to hear about all of your experiences though!

@Mailia- Thanks for the tip! Next time I’ll definitely use that to show a more broad view of the app’s features.

@Ashley-Thanks for the shout-out for Hootsuite! I think that’s the beauty of the comments- to expand what we as authors can do in a limited post, making it into a living list :)
