First the original, then Seasons, then Rio, then Space, then Piggies and now Star Wars? At first I thought Rovio were running out of ideas; a collaboration between the somewhat serious Star Wars venture and a bunch of oversized quick-tempered birds seemed off the table. Despite my initial doubts, however, Rovio’s newest release is as addictive as ever.
Angry Birds Star Wars is that classic gameplay we all know and love put into a context that we are equally affectionate towards — that of the Star Wars franchise. This unlikely combination actually suprised me with its comical charm, something i wasn’t sure that would be retained. Will the birds still stay strong in this sequel? Let’s find out. (more…)
If you have an iPhone, had an iPhone, have thought about having an iPhone, known someone who had an iPhone, or even are only vaguely aware of the existence of the iPhone, it’s unlikely that you’ve escaped without some sort of cursory awareness of Angry Birds, the physics-based phenomenon whose popularity has hung around only slightly too long to still be considered a “fad.” Rovio first released Angry Birds in 2009, and has since pushed out all kinds of updates and new chapters, but the premise has more or less always been the same: load a bird into a slingshot, and launch it in an attempt to topple a piggy-inhabited edifice of questionable structural integrity.
Well today, all of that changes. The piggies want the spotlight now, and Rovio has given it to them in a brand new iOS game called Bad Piggies. Bad Piggies is very much set in the same world as Angry Birds, but the game is quite different. Grab a cup of coffee and hit the jump to take a look at this brand new physics-based puzzler. (more…)
We’ve reviewed lots of iPhone games over the years here at iPhone.AppStorm, but, shockingly enough, we’ve never talked about the one game that gave validity to the iPhone as a gaming platform: Angry Birds. That’s right, the same app that now has merchandise found everywhere from Staples to Hot Topic has never been a under our microscope for review. Why not? Heck if I know, but we’re going to remedy that situation right now.
That’s right folks, it’s Angry Birds for the iPhone, and we’re reviewing it after the jump. (more…)
Well look no further, because today we have five awesome iPhone games that are perfect for Angry Birds fans. Some are almost a direct clone of Angry Birds, others are only slightly reminiscent, all are good for hours of fun.
Also, if you’re too cheap to buy Angry Birds to see what all the fuss is about, we’ve got two completely free alternatives that follow the same gameplay model! Let’s take a look.
If you’re an iPhone owner, I’m sure you’ve heard of the phenomenon that is Angry Birds. Writing this article at my desk I have an Angry Bird plush toy on top of my laptop in the corner and a fan-adapted theme song playing over the game on my iPad. It’s unreal just how much of a success Rovio has created.
While the idea of the game is very simple (kill pigs with birds catapulted from a slingshot), I’m surprised how many players don’t actually know what each bird does or what the difference between the blocks are. In addition to explaining what these are, in this article, we’ll be looking at some top strategies to bag more points in both Angry Birds and Seasons.
Back in October, the team at Rovio Mobile launched a new game in their ever-popular catalog: Angry Birds Halloween. Now the birds are back in Angry Birds Seasons, a free upgrade to the Halloween game adding 25 new levels for the month of December!
Back in August, developer Rovio announced it had gained more than 6.5 million paid downloads on Apple’s app store with the iPad version owning over 200,000 of those sales. More of the same thing can surely only be good, and Rovio have achieved that.
