TNNS is another new take on an old gaming idea, one of the oldest in fact. It’s hard after all these years to take a great standby like Pong and breathe fresh life into it, but that’s what TNNS is trying to do. But for TNNS, an arcade game with undeniable similarities to the oldest video game ever, is that enough to create something original and interesting? (more…)

The days where I used to visit arcades over and over again to get my gaming thrills may be long gone, but that doesn’t mean the thrills themselves have left. These iOS apps translate the arcade experience to the palm of your hand and even offer new, potentially more exiting games, too.

In this roundup, I’m going to highlight 11 apps that are arcade essentials. I use that term loosely, but for an arcade lover such as myself, I find these games impossible to be without. (more…)

The best arcade games aren’t just challenging or visually stimulating — they tell a story. Bumpy Road is an arcade game that harnesses the arcade game trifecta: It’s challenging; it’s (very) visually appealing; and it has a story element with charming characters.

Back then, I was a comic book collector and one of my favorite titles was The Uncanny X-Men, a Marvel brand that’s since been turned into movies, TV shows and everything in between.

In those times we all were waiting anxiously for an X-Men video game to show up on the consoles or in the arcades, and finally it was here. X-Men became a big hit in my town, and I remember spending many an hour slapping joysticks trying to go further and further in the game. But now that it’s available for the iPhone, is it worth the purchase? Does it stand up to the test of time? Let’s find out.
