Whether you’re new to exercise and don’t know where to start, or a fitness enthusiast who’s looking to change up the weekly routine, the Reebok Fitness app allows you to design a workout program specific to your wants and needs with the help of a fitness expert.

Pick your favorite activities or incorporate new ones into your plan, then let the app provide you with a schedule and workout reminders, plus challenge you to keep you motivated. You can view a breakdown of your achievements after each session and even share the results with friends.

Moves is so much more than a pedometer. In addition to keeping track of how many steps you take every day, the app can automatically recognize whether you’re walking, cycling or running, plus chart your route on a map and more. All you have to do is carry your iPhone in your pocket or in a bag.

Best of all, it visualizes your daily, weekly and monthly activity, allowing you to set and achieve simple goals for yourself. I’ll show you how it works after the jump. (more…)

A lot of people find exercise to be more enjoyable when they’re also listening to music, and there’s the argument that a good song can even boost your performance during a workout.

The makers of Cruise Control: Run have taken that idea one step (ha!) further by finding a way to adjust in real time the music on your iPhone. This means you can set your target pace or just start running, and the app will continually keep the rhythm in check so that your footsteps fall just so. Click “more” and I’ll show you how it works. New year’s resolutions about improving your health are very popular, but most fall flat. People will start off strong by attending the gym and eating right, but unfortunately, it is easy to fall back into the same bad habits after just a few weeks. I did not want to become a statistic of giving up on being more healthy this new year, so I stared to look into how to track healthy habits.

Activity trackers have become more popular within recent months and definitely peaked my interest. Previously, the Jawbone Up band was released and failed. In fact, Jawbone allowed users to receive a full refund for the band, which is something unheard of in the technology market. Recently, Jawbone released a new version of their Up band with some app updates. They claim to have fixed the numerous problems and bricking that users were experiencing. Can the new Jawbone Up band stand up to the competition? Let’s dive in and find out. (more…)

Getting into shape and my physical improving fitness is something I take a great interest in. I’ve tried a wide variety of training methods to get fitter and stronger; from powerlifting to HST (hyperbolic strength training), interval training, and currently, bodyweight training. The great thing about keeping in shape this way is that it’s virtually cost free, however, there isn’t necessarily an obvious way to start.

Adrian James Six Pack Abs Workout is an app that features a wide variety of exercises to work and develop your core strength. I hadn’t heard of the app until recently, when I stumbled across it gaining traction in the App Store’s Top Charts, with a lot of 5 star ratings and a reasonable price. This made me curious as to finding out what made this app so special for what appears to be a simple function. Let’s find out if it offers anything unique. (more…)

What’s that shadow over there … they’re following you … runner No. five … they’re following you now … the swarm from the car park … RUN! And with the sound of zombie moaning in my ears, I picked up my pace and did just that — I ran.

Nowadays, we are all looking for a way to spice up our workout and make it more fun.  A new playlist that boosts your motivation, TVs built into exercise equipment and intense gladiator training all exist but why did no one think of hiring zombies to get us to move more? Zombies, Run! does just that. (more…)

No doubt the item “exercise more” will be on some of your New Year resolutions lists, especially after indulging in all the tempting goodies that show up at end-of-year parties and family gatherings. Nexercise can help you reach your goals, plus provide you with incentives to get up and get moving.

How, you ask? By awarding you with points based on your activity levels, and then turning those points into cash in the shape of discounts at name brands and stores. Click “more” to see how it works. (more…)

Working out. Not all of us are good at it. Even those of us that are don’t know if we’re training right or wrong. If you’ve struggled trying to bulk or tone up, it probably has to do either with a fault in the exercises or a lack of organisation. That can all be changed with the help of this app.

Fitness Buddy is an app packed full of exercises that will help you sculpt your ideal body. It has many useful features for the new athlete or the dedicated bodybuilder; anyone will be able to enhance their workout through this app. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store. (more…)

SuperBetter is an app that’s part game, part life coach, and designed to help you achieve your health goals — such as recovering from an illness/injury, losing weight or eating better — by increasing your personal resilience in four areas: physical, mental, emotional and social. A tall order, right?

The app’s effectiveness lies in the way it breaks big goals into itty bitty ones. SuperBetter keeps track of all your “Quests” and tasks you with daily and weekly to-do’s that will get you closer to conquering your “bad guys.” And lest you start thinking SuperBetter is just one great big group hug, think again: The app features “The Science Behind …” videos and tips throughout to back up its methods.

Let’s take a look at what’s so super-great about SuperBetter after the jump.  (more…)

Not everyone has time in their day to spend hours at the gym, nor have the motivation to do so alone, anyway. Yet, most of the people who meet the aforementioned criteria probably understand the benefits of doing some exercise each day and that’s where Teemo comes in.

Teemo’s core concept is turning spare minutes you have throughout the day into time spent exercising, merged with an ability to do so with friends remotely and in a game-like, or fun, way. (more…)
