fridaygamesWelcome back to Game Friday, folks!
If you’ve been in withdrawal then I’m happy to report that we have a sweet set of games for you this week. And we miss your recommendations too, so let us know what you’ve been playing this past week after you read.
In the wake of our grand unveiling of iPad.AppStorm, we’re also shuffling some other things around here to keep the content dynamic. Among these adjustments is the fact that this Game Friday column will now move to a bi-weekly schedule to make room for some more in-depth reviews. So keep an eye out for those, but don’t be dismayed: this new schedule also means we can bring you only the cream of the crop every other Friday, so it’s a win-win scenario.
In the meantime, you’re encouraged to keep sending us email tips and feedback; we love getting them and hope you continue to enjoy Game Fridays! Now with all that out of the way, let’s dive into this week’s selection…
As a result of what will always be remembered as the worst release week in the history of the App Store, try as we might we were unable to find a single new game worth playing for you. We’re very sorry.
On the bright side, there’s always the option of resorting to past titles or playing board games. We also recommend knitting if you need to relax.

Spring is in the air (I know this because there’s a St. Patrick’s Day edition of Angry Birds Seasons out) and that means that all nature’s glories are emerging from the winter gloom: birds, trees, iPad 2s…
If you happen to be enjoying the weather (standing in line) out in the wilderness (beside an Apple Store) and need some extra help distracting yourself from what’s around you, we offer the following collection of excellent titles — careful though, some of these are obscenely addictive!
Seems like March has snuck up on us this year, and with the announcement of the iPad 2 and the “year of the iPad 2″, it will be interesting to see what that means for portable games.
While we wait though, here are some excellent new titles that are worth playing!
As we bid farewell to February and keep our eyes peeled for the upcoming iPad 2 announcement at the beginning of next month, it seems appropriate that we’ve had a very interesting week of game releases.
