We review a lot of games here at iPhone.AppStorm, and the ones that do the best — both financially and by popular vote — tend to be the ones that take advantage of the iPhone’s screen (think Angry Birds, Cut the Rope and similar games). Hungry Lizards fits into that category, and that’s one of the reasons we’re happy to have them as our weekly sponsor.
As the story goes, you’re a lizard — either Spike or Lizia, based on your decision at the beginning of the game — and you’ve been traveling the world because of the great bug famine of 2013. So you’re hungry. Real hungry. And you have to catch bugs in the air with your tongue.
It’s not easy.
This is a game about timing. You have to jump at a certain time because you’ll always travel the same arcs, but you also have to consider how fast the flies are flying and how far your tongue can reach. You get more points for more difficult to reach flies, and trust me, they’re not easy to get. This is a game that will test your skills.
You’ve got a few different playing modes to choose from. There’s multiplayer, real-time co-op and single player to choose from, and then you have 10 levels, 10 bosses and extra bonus rounds that you can unlock as well. Play with your pals via Bluetooth, Game Center or Facebook — pick your poison. Oh, and it’s a universal app as well, so you can play it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
But the best part about this game? The developers promise no in-app purchases — ever. Now that’s impressive.
Get It Now!
Hungry Lizards is just $0.99 in the App Store, and it’s worth every penny. It’s an addictive little romp that you’re sure to play for long stretches at a time, and it’s free of in-app purchases. What else are you waiting for? Go get it now!
The premise sounds simple enough. We’re here to play golf. Get the little ball that starts on one side of the course into the little hole on the other side. And yet, with Super Stickman Golf, we see how deliciously complicated that process can become. Noodlecake Studios did a fantastic job imagining this classic game.
And now they’re back again with Super Stickman Golf 2. Is it the same old story? Is it a different take on the same game? Is it worth trying? Let me try and give you a taste of Super Stickman Golf 2. (more…)
Welcome back to Game Friday, friends! This week’s line-up includes a lot of punching, some driving, a bit of block shuffling and some nice toilet cleaning.

Games are pretty popular topics for reviews here at iPhone.AppStorm, and when Apple decides to spotlight one in the App Store, we take notice. That’s why I jumped on the chance to review Dead Ahead, a zombie runner made by the same people who brought us Cut the Rope and Robbery Bob.
Although Dead Ahead is fun, easy to learn and fits most of my standards for an iPhone game, it does have one big problem. Something that looms over most apps nowadays, but this time with a new twist — one that’s just as insidious as the zombies that roam the game’s universe. Do you dare go forward to find out? (more…)
It’s that time of year around here where everyone is heading up to their cottage to air the place out after winter, and while there’s no shortage of activities once you’re there, the car ride up can get pretty boring …
Needless to say, we can help you out with a new dose of wonderful App Store entertainment. Click through and get ready for some gaming! (more…)
I was the target audience for The Fast and the Furious when it came out in 2001. I was the member of a car club, I owned a Honda and I had friends who were tuners. We knew some of the owners of the cars in the movie, including the guy who owned the Supra that ended up becoming the hero of the flick. It was an interesting part of my life to be sure.
But today, 12 years later with two kids and a wife, I’m no longer that guy. I’ll watch the F&F movies, but at this point it’s all about entertainment, not wishing I could get my car in the film. So what appeal will Fast & Furious 6 — a game based on the latest installment in the series — do for me? Let’s find out after the jump. (more…)
It feels like a puzzling sort of day, doesn’t it? It’s been a week filled with interesting releases in the puzzle genre, and we’re happy to be featuring a number of our favourites.
Don’t worry if you’re a fan of other genres though — variety is the spice of life, and we’re always keeping things spicy here at AppStorm. Click through for some crazy fish antics, a bit of petty theft and a variety of mind bending puzzles! (more…)
The original Angry Birds is arguably one of the most successful mobile games ever. In only just over three years, you can find a slew of sequels, hordes of merchandise and even an Angry Birds TV cartoon that airs in the developer’s home land of Finland. I’d bet that a large majority of readers checking out this article have played Rovio’s hit at some point, and if you haven’t, I’d wonder how you managed to avoid it.
Rovio is back with yet another sequel, but this time, it’s not an affiliation with a big blockbuster movie. Angry Birds Friends is all about bringing deep Facebook integration to everyone’s favourite bird-flinging game. Let’s take a closer look at what Rovio has crammed into its latest title, after the break. (more…)
There are a few games that I am embarrassingly addicted to. The Simpsons: Tapped Out comes to mind, a game that I’ve whiled away many an hour playing (and passed on to my friends, too). Tetris was another that killed the battery life on my Game Boy back in the day. Today, the battery killer is a new game, called Dots.
What makes Dots better than my other addictions? Well, there’s a list, so let me just break it down after the jump.
On this day in 1908, Mother’s Day as we know it was first celebrated in the United States. This weekend, if you’re treating mom to some gifts, don’t forget about the gift of gaming.
Today’s batch of freshly-picked App Store goodies includes a long-awaited space sim, a zombie game with a twist and some fascinating papery fun. Come see!
