Some people are just impossible to shop for, am I right? You always end up directly asking them what they want — or at least wishing you could.

Fontain is an app designed to remove this kind of stress from the equation of shopping for others, plus notify your friends and family members what it is you’re lusting after, too. The app will remind you of upcoming gift-giving dates, inform you when your friends or family receive gifts (no embarrassing duplicates!) and more. Click through to take a look. (more…)

Being that my job has a lot to do with Apple products, I usually find one or two underneath the tree during the holidays. This year however, it was my wife who found herself with a new iPhone case while I had other types of gifts to open. It even extended out to my other family members, as well all received an iTunes gift card in one denomination or another.

What about you? Did you get an iPhone or iPhone related goodie during the holidays? Let us know in the poll to the right!

It’s hard buying gifts for people, and wads of cash, though expedient, can seem tacky. If you want to give something meaningful without losing your mind or blowing your whole budget on just one gift, it really takes some effort. And there’s really no guarantees you won’t lose your mind.

Helping to preserve your sanity, or at least what’s left, is iWishfor. This little app lets you create wish lists for yourself and browse the lists of your friends and family, taking the guesswork out of the holidays. Can iWishfor really save you all those headaches and maybe some returned gifts? (more…)

If there is one thing that I dislike, it’s shopping — I absolutely hate going to a mall to get something. I hate having to deal with crowds, no parking and all the other things that come with it. But, I do love to shop online; in fact, I will do about 95% of my Christmas shopping and gift shopping online if I can. It is so much easier to do and I will gladly pay for shipping to avoid the mall.

That’s why I got excited when I came across Karma, an application that you can use to send gifts to someone else. They make it very easy to pick out a gift and send it to someone, and best of all, you can do it all straight from your iPhone. (more…)

So it’s the day after Christmas, and those of you who celebrate the holiday are probably still working your way through piles of tinsel and empty cartons of eggnog. It seems like at our house, an iTunes gift card is usually standard fare under the tree, but more recently we’ve been getting apps given to us via the App Store.

What about you? Have you found yourself with an app under the tree? Have you given one yourself? How about gift cards? Let us know in the poll to the right.

Christmas time is here again. I am reminded of the holiday’s presence by the decorated trees, sparkling lights, Christmas tunes on the radio and that huge pile of festively wrapped gifts. Oh wait! I knew I was forgetting something! It looks like yet another last-minute gift-grabbing spree for me!

But now the real challenge begins. Her favorite color was red, right? Does he worship or despise Manchester United? And after all the effort I went through to secretly sneak into the closet to find her real shirt size, I’ve already forgotten what it was. And how much was that new iPod Touch going to cost again? If only I could keep track of all of that and more. If only I had known about Gift Plan sooner!
