headphones

I’ve got a problem, and it’s headphones. Although the iPhone 5 came with EarPods that are much better than the previous earbuds, I still find myself looking for a nice and comfortable set of headphones. Turns out that I now have a small collection going, with no end in sight. There’s the pair that I use because they have a noise canceling feature, or the ones I toss in a bag because they’re small and convenient. Some I wear in public because they don’t leak sound, others I try to hide because of their cost.

What about you? What kind of headphones do you use with your iPhone? Let us know in the poll to the right!

Before I left on a business trip recently, I went out and spent some cash on a nice pair of noise-canceling headphones. At first, I loved the sound and was amazed at how it shut out the static around me. Problem was, they felt really flimsy and although they looked cool, they got uncomfortable quickly.

It made me wonder how many of our readers spend some decent cash on their headphones, or if they just use the pair provided in the box with their iPhone. So let’s put it to a poll: What kind of headphones do you use?

Congratulations to Andrew Dilger (@and314rew), you’ve won a free SteelSeries Siberia Neckband Headset! You’ll be receiving an email shortly with more information.

In a recent poll, our readers clearly expressed that they carry no great amount of love for the Apple earbuds included with every iOS device. Today we’re going to take a look at a product that may be just what the doctor ordered for iPhone and iPod owners looking to upgrade to a decent headset without spending a fortune.

The SteelSeries Siberia Neckband is a stylish and affordable set of headphones that I recently got my hands on for a review. We’ll rate the cans on both design and functionality so you can decide whether they’re right for you.

Apple has been shipping earbuds with products ever since the first iPod. They’ve gone through years of improvements and design changes and reportedly tested thousands of ears to end up where they are today with the current models.

The question we want to know today is “Has all this research paid off?” Though many people are more than happy to use their Apple-provided earbuds every single day, some audiophiles look down on them as crude contraptions that provide pure ear torture.

Leave your vote in the poll on the right to let us know which products you use regularly to pump music into your brain from your iPhone or iPod. If you don’t use the Apple headphones, leave a comment below and tell us the specific model you do use. Also, tell us how you rate the default Apple earbuds in terms of both audio quality and comfort.
