Look, I love my iPhone, probably more than I should. Still, as I continue to use Android and Windows Phone, I can’t help but think that there are some things Apple could possibly “borrow” from the other two mobile operating systems.

Let’s take a look at a few of those things that I’d like to bring back to the iPhone.

Certain categories in the App Store stand out not only for their functionality but for the beautiful design trends that you tend to see within them. Custom ringtone apps are definitely just such a category and several of these apps have absolutely gorgeous interfaces.

Though there are tons and tons of ringtone makers available, today we’re focusing only on the top tier of attractively-designed applications. Each of these apps comes in at less than a buck and all offer their own spin on giving you the ability to build custom ringtones from the music on your phone or even audio that you record yourself.

Everyday, everyone completes numerous tasks and for some, the completion of the tasks can sometimes be forgotten. Luckily for us Apple users, there’s a wealth of apps available in our much-loved App Store to help us get through the daily grind. One interesting dollar-priced app is in this category is Sorted.

Unlike many other to-do apps, Sorted is quite simplistic in UI and functionality. It’s simple: add tasks, get reminded and then do them. It’s not tedious, even if the task might be. So whether you need to remember to pick up milk from the store or be sure to get that birthday present, Sorted might just be your solution.

It seems to be a pre-requisite that, in order to be a successful iPhone developer, you must have a wonderfully designed website. The quality of a developer’s website is often a good indicator of the care taken in the design of the app, so it’s important to get right!

The general verdict seems to be that Apple have hit a home run with the launch of the iPad. Selling 700,000 on launch day is no mean feat, and a number of stunning applications are beginning to spring up on the App Store.
