Although there’s no confirmation yet, everyone assumes that the next iPhone — whatever it’s named — is going to have LTE onboard. Where I live, Verizon dominates AT&T in that category, so making the switch for me is something of a no brainer.

As predicted by pretty much everyone, Apple held an event on March 7th, and it was to announce the new iPad, complete with its Retina display and all sorts of other fancy tools. As seems to be the case with the iPad, whatever we find inside could make its way into the next iPhone.

So the new iPad was introduced last week, and with it came some pretty major technical improvements that make up one really impressive device. In the previous two generations, certain improvements were introduced with the iPad, then passed over to the iPhone and we so no reason why this time should be any different.

Here in the US, Verizon is pushing pretty hard to make sure that all new smartphones on their network are 4G LTE capable for this year. Verizon sells the iPhone of course, which begs the question, will there be a 4G LTE iPhone in 2012?
