Our featured sponsor this week is It’s Playing, the ultimate movie player for your iPhone.

Sure, watching movies on the iPhone is cool, but getting them on there in the first place can be a real pain in the butt. It’s Playing removes all the hassle out of the system by giving you multiple ways to get your videos onto your iPhone, and also allows you to do more with what you’re watching than with any other program.

Hop onto your network to find a music file on your computer, then stream it to your iPhone or copy it over for later viewing. You can then stream that movie to your Apple TV via AirPlay, making it all a cable-free experience. Once your video is playing, you can do what It’s Playing calls, “Video Forensics.” Zoom in or out, adjust audio pitch, tweak the viewing speed or download subtitles online. There’s no better way to watch movies on your iPhone.

I did this all on a video of my own, and it took just a few minutes to copy the file to my iPhone. Once it was on, watching the movie was as simple as can be — and since it was a darker film, I could tweak the brightness to make it easier to view. It really is cool to use, and very user friendly.

Go Get It!

It’s Playing is available right now, so hop on over and pick it up. It’s only $3.99, which is super cheap when you consider what a hassle it can be to get your movies on your iPhone.

My wife never liked buying cases for her iPhones, she preferred the Gelaskins-style sticker with a little pattern. No biggie to me, but then one day I noticed that the sticker on the back of her iPhone 4 looked a little … bubbly. I peeled off the sticker, and with it came tons of tiny pieces of glass. She had broken the back of her iPhone and had no idea.

Me, I’m a case guy. But what about you? Do you prefer to buy a case for your iPhone, or do you like it au naturale? Let us know in the poll to the right.

Whether it’s five minutes while you wait for your coffee, ten minutes spare in your lunch break or even whole hours on plane journeys, almost everyone has some spare time to kill. There’s a grey area between productive apps and apps with little use — these are the apps we play purely to kill time.

Traditionally, these are games. We all have at least one or two apps that we use to waste away time we wouldn’t do anything else with. If you happen to be short of these apps, don’t fret; I’ve compiled a list that will help you fill up your time indefinitely. (more…)

Since it’s still only the summer, we don’t yet have word on a new iPhone. We can guess pretty confidently that it’ll happen this summer, but until then, it’s up to the rumor sites, gossippers and wizards to theorize what they see in Apple’s future.

There’s been a lot of talk recently about expanding the screen size on these things, making it taller, but not wider. Why? It’s closer to a 16X9 format, and it makes it easier for widescreen movies. But this is all conjecture for the moment, at least until we see something in person.

But what about you? Do you think the next iPhone will sport a taller or wider display? Let us know in the comments!
